President and CEO of The Tiffen Company to Lead HIA-LI CEO Roundtable

Steve Tiffen will Share Success Stories and Lessons Learned at his Hauppauge, NY-based Company as Part of the HIA-LI CEO Roundtable Series; Friday, February 18; 9-11 AM

HAUPPAUGE, NY, February 14, 2011 – Steve Tiffen, President and CEO of The Tiffen Company, a leading US manufacturer of glass filters and other name-brand products for digital, still, video, motion pictures and television, will share his business success stories and lessons learned at the helm of his OSCAR and EMMY award winning organization at the first of four CEO Roundtables to be hosted by HIA-LI, the recognized voice for business on Long Island. The topic of his presentation will be: “How to Focus on Your Customers and Give Them What They Want: If You Don’t, Someone Else Will.” The CEO Roundtable will be held at The Tiffen Company, 90 Oser Avenue, Hauppauge, New York on Friday, February 18 from 9-11 AM. More information and event registration is available at https://www.hia-li.org/calendarDetails.cfm?eventID=1314

Tiffen says he learned to manage people by reading avidly and by having excellent mentors who included his father and two uncles who founded The Tiffen Company in 1938. “I once read that the best management style is the one that’s needed at the time,” said Tiffen. “A company must find out what its customers want and give it to them, changing direction based on current conditions.”

Tiffen’s accomplishments include his company’s winning multiple OSCAR and EMMY awards and locally the Large Business Achievement Award in HIA-LI’s competitive contest in 2010.

“Steve Tiffen is certain to lead a stimulating discussion with his audience,” said Terri Alessi–Miceli, President of HIA-LI. “HIA-LI is excited about our series of CEO Roundtables. These events will provide attendees with outstanding advice, not in a textbook format, but directly from local executives who have used the suggestions they will share to lead their organizations and industries.”

The event is the first in a series of planned CEO Roundtables that will be conducted by some of
Long Island’s most accomplished business leaders. Upcoming speakers include the leaders of
ClearVision Optical; the H2M Group; and Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, LLP.

Registration and pre-payment are required to guarantee seating.
