Congressman Steve Israel to Provide Opening Remarks on Sustainability: A Roadmap for the Present and Future; Event to be Held Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Melville Marriott

HAUPPAUGE, NEW YORK, October 20, 2010 – HIA-LI’s Go Green Environmental and Energy Conference will focus on promoting green energy for the industrial and commercial sectors on Long Island. Congressman Steve Israel will open the conference with remarks on Sustainability: A Roadmap for the Present and Future, followed by Keynote Speaker, Robert B. Catell, Chairman of The Advanced Energy Center known as AERTC. The event will be held October 27, 2010, from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm at the Melville Marriott. The Go Green Conference will feature morning seminar tracks on Energy / Benchmarking / Evaluation, LEED / Green Buildings, Manufacturing and Solar. Afternoon Seminar Tracks will address Financing & Incentives, Greet IT, Green Jobs, and Sustainability. The day includes an Executive Breakfast, Breakout Seminars, and Executive Lunch and an Exhibit Hall. The event is co-sponsored by Stalco Construction.

HIA-LI’s Go Green Environmental & Energy Conference will provide an outlet where all involved in Green and Clean technologies and industries can learn more about the standards and issues around energy sustainability that will move our region forward now and in the future,” said Terri Alessi-Miceli, HIA president. “We’re excited to present this great event with such distinguished speakers.”

AERTC is a partnership of academic institutions, research institutions, energy providers and industrial corporations. Its mission is innovative energy research, education and technology deployment with a focus on efficiency, conservation, renewable energy and nanotechnology applications for new and novel sources of energy.

The day will begin and end with sessions in the various Seminar Tracks. During the two-hour luncheon presentation, attendees will be addressed on the subject “Innovate, Collaborate and Leverage Resources in the New Energy Economy.” The panel includes;

  • Dr. Edward Guiliano, President, New York Institute of Technology
  • Dr. W. Hubert Keen, President, State University of New York at Farmingdale
