HIA-LI Elects New Slate of Officers and Adds a New Board Member Changes to take place on January 1, 2021
HAUPPAUGE, NY – JANUARY 7, 2021 – The board of HIA-LI elected a new slate of officers, and added a new board member, that took effect January 1, 2021.
“These outstanding professionals represent what is great about Long Island,” said Terri Alessi-Miceli, President and CEO of HIA-LI. “Each one has a strong record of commitment to the region and innovation within their business sector. I look forward to working with them as we move towards economic recovery in 2021.”
Richard Humann, PE, of Nesconset, was elected Chairperson of the board. He is President and CEO of H2M architects + engineers based in Melville. Under Rich’s leadership, H2M has received several awards and accolades recognizing numerous achievements. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from New York Institute of Technology and a graduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Carol A. Allen, of Nesconset, was elected First Vice President of the board. She is President and CEO of People’s Alliance Federal Credit Union (PAFCU) based in Hauppauge. Carol has over 25 years of progressive experience with PAFCU and was honored with Long Island Business News’ Outstanding CEO Award in 2014. Anthony Manetta, of Babylon, was elected Second Vice President of the board. He is the Managing Director at Cedar Communities, L.P, a private equity real estate acquisition firm. Anthony was previously CEO and Executive Director of the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency. He holds a BBA in Accounting and Economics and an MBA in Corporate Finance from Dowling College. Robert T. Quartè, CPA, of Sayville, was elected Treasurer of the board. Bob is Partner in the accounting firm PKF O’Connor Davies. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University and has been an Adjunct Professor at Stony Brook University teaching an Advanced Accounting Problems course to graduate students. Kevin M. O’Connor, of Great River, was elected Corporate Secretary. Kevin is President and CEO of BNB Bank based in Bridgehampton. Since assuming the role in January 2008, the company has experienced steady and continued growth. He was recently named one of Long Island’s Top CEOs by Long Island Business News. A Certified Public Accountant, Kevin earned an Associate’s Degree in accounting from Suffolk County Community College and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Adelphi University. Alan R. Sasserath, CPA, MS, of Greenlawn, was elected to the board. A partner in the Melville-based accounting firm of Sasserath & Zoraian, LLP, he has more than 30 years of public accounting firm experience with a broad background in accounting, tax, audit, and financial planning.
