Responsible for day-to-day cost accounting functions, e.g., calculating landed costs, determining sell prices, maintaining customer prices lists, conducting margin analysis, and developing reports for senior management. Will assist in coordinating deliverables and meeting all deadlines. Requires a high level of knowledge in accounting, reporting and analysis. Effective and clear communication skills, analytical capabilities, and a drive to succeed are required.

Responsibilities

• Calculate landed costs and sell prices, and maintain customer price lists for imported products
• Work with customs broker to determine import duties and tariffs
• Maintain Item Creation file
• Analyze operational costs and landed costs
• Prepare and distribute reports comparing landed costs to actual costs
• Recommend opportunities for cost reduction and profit maximization
• Monitor compliance with all laws and standards
• Conduct margin analysis
• Prepare monthly corporate sales and margin reports
• Calculate royalty and sales commissions
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with various departments
• Support senior management with special projects
• Actively participate in all departmental goals and objectives by assisting

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• Five to seven years’ prior relevant experience  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with SAP Business One a plus
• Knowledge of accounting best practices, laws, standards and GAAP
• Highly organized, able to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Highly motivated and focused team player
